The Advance Code of Conduct applies to all staff, ambassadors, judging panel members, and board members of Advance. The Code outlines the components to maintain a high standard of ethical behaviour, and to ensure that all members of the organisation conduct themselves with integrity, respect, and professionalism. The Code is also a regulatory requirement to maintain charitable status. All Advance staff and honorary appointees must:

  1. Represent the organisation positively and authentically, and do not engage in conduct that would discredit the reputation of the organisation.
  2. Safeguard confidential information, for example membership data should only be used for the intended purpose and should not be shared outside of the organisation.
  3. Not seek to represent the interests of Advance in any official forum, or make public comment on policy matters relating to Advance without prior permission from the Advance CEO or Board of Directors.
  4. Acknowledge conflicts of interest, and report conflicts to the CEO or Chair when necessary.

Board members, the Advance CEO and Company Secretary are subject to additional obligations under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) definition of Responsible People.
