Born Global: September 2022

Hello friend,

Celebrating outstanding global Australians and sharing their stories to inspire others is central to our mission. So introducing 34 GameChangers to the world and celebrating the 2022 Global Australian Awards this week was an absolute thrill!

If you happened to miss the awards, you can catch up in this edition – watch the broadcast, meet the 2022 Award finalists and winners, and check out the satellite events. We are grateful to Advance’s patron, the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese; the Minister for Industry & Science, Ed Husic; and the Asst Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tim Watts, for recognising and celebrating the Global Australian Awards with us. Our deepest thanks also to the judging panel, chaired by Ken Allen AO, for selecting the Award winners from so many talented global Australians.

As the Global Australian Awards demonstrate, there are so many ways in which individuals connect Australia with the world – through their careers, education and/or migration – all resulting in a more globally engaged Australia. Our lofty goals include enhancing Australia’s ‘soft power’ and reputation around the world, and we want to thank all the Advance community for your role in making that happen!

‘Till next time,
Johanna Pitman
