Born Global: March 2021

Hello friend,

Our mission at Advance.org has always been to promote the achievements of global Australians and to support your journey – from the time you make the decision to work overseas, to when you are building your career abroad and if/when you decide to move back to Australia. To deliver this important agenda, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Johanna Pitman as Advance CEO. Having experienced the expat journey herself across Korea, Japan, China, the UK and the US, Johanna is now bringing her expertise to nurture our professional network for global Australians.

This month we heard stories from those of you returning to live and work in Australia at the first #CoffeeHour of 2021. So in this issue, we’ve included resources to apply the skills and knowledge you’ve acquired overseas, as well as inspiration from Advance Awardees and members around building a global career and powerful communities for growth.

As you can see, we have big plans for 2021. The highlight will be 10th edition of the Advance Awards. On the evening of Wednesday 8 September 2021 AEST, we will be celebrating outstanding global Australians in person in Sydney and around the world, all connected through a virtual ceremony. Wherever you are in the world, you are invited to save the date for this very special celebration.

With my best regards,
Yasmin Allen
Chairman | Advance.org
