Born Global: June 2021

Hello friend,

In this uncertain and unprecedented time, the concern on many Australians’ minds is that of the future of work. Future-proofing jobs and businesses has taken on a whole new meaning, and hindered communications through lack of in-person contact has had a widespread international impact. We are aware that our members are eager to adapt to this new working world with the aim to creating opportunity out of this period.

This month we focus on the future of work and the global Aussies working to improve the outlook for all people and businesses on a global scale, post-pandemic and beyond. We provide resources for how to deal with the new stress of working in a pandemic from Advance Award winner Susan David, and how to future-proof your business through the use of AI, blockchain and robotics. To help assist those who are transitioning we’re hosting the Advance #CoffeeHour, and we’re expanding on our commitment to bettering the future of working professionals through the 2021 Advance NextGen program. Make sure you register!

Diversity and representation have also become a cornerstone of creating a successful business, which was highlighted this month at the Advance GameChanger boardroom lunch with Kate Glazebrook, and is discussed in a postcard by Natasha Norton based in Hong Kong. So no matter your current working situation, this edition provides lessons and insights relevant for everyone.

‘Till next time,
