Born Global: April 2023

Hello friend,

Have you noticed our broader definition of “global Aussies” at Advance? Whether you are an Australian living overseas, an expat who has returned home, a current or former international student, or a recent migrant to Australia, we are all global Australians.

Fittingly, this month’s postcard from Susie Cramp shares the perspective of a British PhD student in Australia. Her interesting ecological research and working with First Nations peoples in Western Australia was made possible by a postgraduate scholarship administered by our friends at the British-Australia Society

We’re excited for our Research Commercialisation Town Hall on May 11 and the NextGen Program kicking off in early May. Make sure you’re signed up so you don’t miss out!

And in a 🌟new🌟 section, we are spotlighting Aussie artists, musicians, performers, authors, filmmakers etc making waves both internationally and here in Australia. Know a creative Aussie or upcoming cultural event featuring Aussies? Let us know!

‘Till next time,
Johanna Pitman

Trade negotiations are also progressing with Europe and India.

MAINTAINING AUSSIE MENTORS

The results of last month’s poll revealed that only 20% of our members regularly stay in contact with their Aussie-based mentors.
