#GlobalAustralianPodcast S3 Ep1: Professor Glenn Denning

In this first episode of Season 3, you will meet Professor Glenn Denning, announced the Global Australian of the Year in 2023. Incredibly, Glenn was also awarded the Global Impact Award this year.  In the 12 years of the Awards, no finalist has ever received both of these particular awards.  The Judging Panel were so impressed with Glenn’s incredible work, and his consistent impact and determination in different roles over 40 years, that they believed his work should be honoured with both these Awards.

Glenn is a world-renowned expert in international agriculture, food security and sustainable development, who has dedicated his career to ending hunger and malnutrition. As Professor of Professional Practice and founding Director of the Master of Public Administration in Development Practice at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, Glenn’s current work focuses on sustainable transformation of the global food system. Over the past 40 years, Glenn has advised governments and international organisations on agriculture and food policy in more than 50 countries.

A pragmatic optimist, Glenn believes that the future is what we choose it to be. Listen as he shares his journey and his hope that the efforts of the graduates he has taught, and the collaboration of communities, businesses and governments, can lead us to a food secure world. Glenn is an inspiration, having dedicated his life’s work to the goal of ensuring there is enough food for all people at all times.
