Yiyang is a fourth-year undergraduate student at The University of Sydney, majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. As a motivated and determined individual passionate about health care, Yiyang has been involved in four research projects across Australia, China and Switzerland with a specialty in sensor and catalysis. She has improved a carbon-based sensor for detecting metal ion which enables efficient and effective sensing in nano-scale. In the past three years of undergraduate study, Yiyang’s capability has been demonstrated from academic-related awards and scholarships from school such as Dean’s Excellence Award, Vice Chancellor’s Global Mobility Scholarship, Summer Research Scholarships and several course unit top performances. In 2018, Yiyang was accepted by ETH Zurich, Switzerland, for semester-long student exchange in Master (Chemistry) level courses and research. In 2019, Yiyang was sponsored by an industry partner and started full-time working on water treatment product development for six-month. Yiyang has also been actively involved in international engagement and is part of the Global Citizenship Award Program for two years since 2018. Being a dedicated student and progressing researcher, Yiyang is dedicated to paving the way that leads to health care innovation.
