ANZCCJ International Women’s Day Breakfast 2023
March 8 @ 8:00 am - 9:30 am AEDT
ANZCCJ invites members and friends to join us in celebrating International Women’s Day at a special breakfast event on March 8 at Pullman Tokyo Tamachi. Internationally renowned best-selling author and scholar, Dr Kate Kitagawa, Director, Space Education Office at JAXA, will join Ms Janine Pitt, the Australian Government’s Education and Research Counsellor in Japan, for a “fireside chat” where we will hear about Dr Kitagawa’s exceptional life story, why she was selected as one of the 100 most influential people in Japan and how she is travelling the world, getting young people excited about space and encouraging the next generation of female leaders in this field. Dr Kitagawa is an inspirational and engaging speaker and will no doubt inspire us to follow in her footsteps and recognise our responsibilities to do our bit for gender equality. With the 2023 theme of “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”, we are delighted to welcome these two senior leaders who will highlight the need to address the issues around digital education, such as the risk of perpetuating existing patterns of gender inequality, and how female participation in innovation and technology is crucial for a sustainable future too. This will be a wonderful event and we hope you can join us!
