The global pandemic has ensured that all of us are now more acutely aware of supply chains than ever before. The disruption and chaos has created a number of factors that are impacting supply chains in and out of Australia. Some of those factors include lengthy lockdowns; staff shortages due to infection rates; impact of global container shortages; reduced air traffic increasing the premium for airfreight; and the reduction in shipping services have sent prices sky rocketing for freight, creating a challenging landscape for business involved in the import and exports of goods which will ultimately slow economic growth.
