Tan Kueh is one of the group of young Australians involved in the founding of Advance (previously “Young Australian Professionals in America”) in New York in 2002. As the inaugural lead of the Financial Services Chapter, she worked with the group to set up its early initiatives and programs.
Tan is a successful business builder and financial professional, with over 20 years in the financial and legal industries. She has led teams to start up, build out and transform businesses in investment banking, private banking and asset management. For more than half her career, Tan was a global Australian, working in New York, Hong Kong and Beijing in senior roles for firms that include Macquarie, UBS and BlackRock.
In recent years, Tan has been pivoting her career into areas and opportunities where financial markets, purpose and values intersect. Most recently, she was the CEO of Grok Ventures, a leading climate investment platform. She is also a non-executive director of the Belvoir Theatre, a world class theatre company that seeks to give voice to diverse communities in Australia.
Tan was born in Hong Kong, and grew up in Hong Kong, London and Sydney. She received a BA/LLB from the University of Sydney.
