Philip Forrest AM is a Director of Advance Global Australians APAC

Philip is a highly respected Australian businessman who has lived and worked in the ASEAN region since 1982, making Singapore his home since 1991.

Recognised for his outstanding contributions to Australia–Singapore business relations, Philip was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2022. 

In 2011, he received the President’s Medal from the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Singapore, in acknowledgment of his role in strengthening commercial ties between Asia and Australia.

Philip holds leadership and advisory roles in several prominent organisations, including the Governing Council of the Singapore Institute of Directors (2014-2023), James Cook University Singapore Board, and the Council of Australian Alumni Singapore. 

He has also played an influential role in numerous chambers of commerce, including the Singapore Business Federation, the Australian Chamber of Commerce (Singapore)—where he served as President—the Australia–ASEAN Chamber of Commerce, the British Chamber of Commerce, and the Australia–Thai Chamber of Commerce, where he also held the presidency. He was previously involved with the Association of Banks in Singapore.

As a seasoned non-executive director, Philip brings deep expertise to various companies, particularly those with Australian ties. Among others he chairs Readymix Holdings International, and is Lead Independent Director and AC Chair of SGX-listed Grand Banks Limited. His executive experience includes serving as Asia Head for ANZ Bank, as well as a 15-year international career with Citibank, working across several countries.

Philip’s leadership and legacy reflect a long-standing commitment to fostering strong bilateral business relationships and shaping the regional commercial landscape across Southeast Asia.
