Christopher Flynn is a Director of Advance Global Australians APAC
He is also a partner at Gilbert + Tobin, where he is Head of Energy, Resources and Infrastructure.
Recognised as one of Australia’s leading energy and infrastructure lawyers and strategic advisors, Chris brings extensive experience across complex M&A, project development, and cross-border joint ventures. His work spans sectors including energy, security, data, defence, space, and telecommunications.
With experience in over 60 countries—particularly across the Asia Pacific, Europe, and Africa—Chris has deep expertise in navigating complex regulatory frameworks, including foreign investment law. Previously, Chris was Co-Head of Energy and Power (APAC) and Global Co-Head of Sovereign Energy at a leading international law firm.
Chris holds a Master of Letters from the University of St Andrews (as a Chevening Scholar), a Master of Laws in International Law from the University of Sydney, and Bachelor's degrees in Law (Honours) and Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from Griffith University. He also studied at the University of Salamanca as an Ambassadorial Scholar.
Chris currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Law Futures Centre at Griffith University.
