Stefanie Myers

Stefanie is a collaborator with an extensive network across public, private and non-profit sectors in Asia Pacific. Enthusiastic and driven, she is known for her ability to create connections, engage communities, forge partnerships and coach individuals and teams to deliver. Stefanie joins Advance following leadership roles in non-profit and government sectors in China and Australia, and running her own consulting practice in Hong Kong.

Stefanie moved to Shanghai in 2011 where she led industry engagement and research for the largest American chamber of commerce in Asia Pacific. Stefanie built extensive relationships with senior executives in China and the United States, managing relationships for Fortune 500 companies across manufacturing, services and consumer sectors. Her focus on increasing value, relevancy and engagement for chamber events led to record satisfaction levels from members. As an innovator, she created new platforms to harness insights and increase revenues. Stefanie forged strategic partnerships to support chamber initiatives and co-authored leading reports on foreign business in China.

Prior to moving to China, Stefanie held roles in policy, engagement and senior management with State and Federal environment departments. In her policy roles, she led multi-disciplinary teams and negotiated with stakeholders to deliver complex government commitments – from saving the koala, to working with mountain bikers, and managing tourists swimming with whales. As an advisor, she worked with senior executives to lead corporate services, budgeting and reporting across state-wide and diverse portfolios.

Stefanie is a strong believer in the power of community to positively impact individuals. She runs Mentor Walks Hong Kong – a platform to connect emerging women professionals with leaders in their fields – and is Head of Curation for TEDxTinHauWomen; the only TEDx event in Hong Kong dedicated to women. In addition, she sits on the Parent Board of not-for-profit CityKids Preschool.

Originally from Queensland, Stefanie’s love for a global life started early, with a student exchange to Germany as a teenager. After graduating with an Arts degree in Asian history and politics, Stefanie spent time working in Galway, Ireland. Indulging her love of all things Italian, Stefanie has visited Italy a number of times, accompanied by her history-buff husband. Living in China she sought out unique attractions to visit, from the world’s largest stone Buddha, to remote mountain rice-terraces. In Hong Kong, she loves hiking the trials, entertaining friends with home-cooked meals, and spending time with her train-obsessed son.
