Maria MacNamara

Maria is a Senior Fellow at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute responsible for creating and delivering The Sydney Dialogue.

She was the CEO of from 2019 – 2020.

Maria has specialist expertise in policy, politics, professional services and digital transformation. She spent over 25 years working in the professional services sector leading marketing and business development teams in Australia and New Zealand. She sits on the AFP Commissioner’s Advisory Board, the Board of the Spark Festival, and the NSW Council of the International Women’s Forum. Maria is also a member of the Board of Advisors for Idea Spies and the inaugural Convenor of the Australian Innovation Council.

She was an adviser to the Hon. Arthur Sinodinos AO, Australia’s Ambassador to the USA when he held the position as Senator for NSW, and was the head of Strategy and Engagement at the Digital Transformation Agency within the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. Maria was also head of Strategy and Policy at WIRO in the Department of Customer Services in the NSW Government. She was a Voting Mentor for the Genesis program at the University of Sydney and an Advisory Council Member for the Future Minds Accelerator. 

Maria has been recognised in the 2018 International Women’s Day Showcase, was a nominee in the 2018 Women of Influence Awards and is the winner of the Startcon Australasian Community Most Valuable Person Award in 2018.
