Jaya is in her final semester of her dual Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Queensland. Jaya has has always aimed to make the most of every opportunity offered to her; from serving as an executive member on multiple university student societies; to being successfully elected into student council; to working part-time in the banking and finance industry whilst studying.
Through her studies Jaya has found a keen interest for the energy and resources sector, and how the law intersects with it, across tax, insolvency and regulation generally. Beyond her studies she learns Mandarin Chinese and has had the opportunity to study on exchange at both Peking University and Tianjin University, as well as travelling extensively throughout urban and rural China to better understand the culture.
In 2019 Jaya will begin her graduate employment with KPMG Perth in Deal Advisory within Restructuring Services. She plans to continue studying Mandarin Chinese and find a way to mix her passion for China and her interest in energy and resources in her future career.
