Working with the Genomics Institute Scientific Director, Genomics Associate Directors, and the Baskin School of Engineering Dean’s Office, manage a complex, high-visibility and high-impact research institute. In this highly visible role, the incumbent will lead and manage external relations with high-profile potential funders, corporate, government and research institution partners, and key decision makers. Lead strategic planning and development, which includes working with the Scientific Director and other key Institute and university leaders to develop long-term programmatic goals as well as operational planning and financial projections; interacting with faculty and researchers and participating in faculty advisory groups; and participating in strategizing which projects, grants and external relationships to pursue. Develop and manage high-level university relations with key leaders including: the Chancellor’s Office; the Executive Vice Chancellor’s Office; Academic Deans, Associate Deans and Assistant Deans; the Office of Research, University Relations; and Information Technology Services. Oversee administrative operations and ensure a high-functioning and stable organization. Directly supervise the Administrative Chief of Staff.
