The mission of the SunPower Financial (SPF) is to remove that barrier by making it cheap and easy for customers to go solar. Raising the bar for customer experience in SPF is core to SunPower’s strategy, and this role will play a critical leadership role in driving future growth.
Reporting to the GM of SunPower Financial, the Director, Product Management (SunPower Financial Loan), will build and lead a team with end-to-end ownership of SunPower’s proprietary suite of world class Loan financial products. We serve four main customer types – consumers, dealers, home builders, and investors – each with its own unique financial needs. The role oversees sales engagement, financial product strategy and pricing, loan partner relationships, as well as business development for the Loan business.
The ideal candidate is well versed in Solar and Consumer lending, has a track record of building and operating, complex, fast paced, high impact teams. The ideal candidate will be an independent and curious thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments and will never stop learning about their customers’ and identifying ways to surprise and delight them. This role begins as an individual contributor, but requires the skills and desire to hire, develop, and partner with a wide range of diverse talent, working closely with engineering, data science, operations, and compliance to define strategy and requirements, and leading the team from concept through delivery and subsequent operation. Superior analytical abilities are essential.
This role owns the SunPower Financial Loan P&L. It will also deliver business impact through ownership of variety of key metrics, including sales funnel expansion, installer engagement, customer satisfaction driven by innovation in customer experience, and Loan performance metrics such as delinquency rates.
This role has C-level visibility, with extraordinary autonomy, scope, and potential for immediate impact. You will be the voice of prospective and existing SunPower Financial loan customers in front of SunPower senior leadership. You are strong at execution, and able to collaborate with sales, engineering, legal, and finance colleagues to deliver a delightful, cohesive, and scalable experience. Excellent listening, writing skills and very strong judgement are essential. The role requires delivery and operation of a complex set of products at a very high-quality bar in a fast paced environment.
