Deputy General Counsel

Each legal unit is led by a Deputy General Counsel (DGC) who reports to the SASD Executive General Manager and works closely with the Special and General Counsels. Each DGC will also work closely with the Chair, Commissioners and senior executives of the ACCC and/or AER to deliver high-level, strategic and timely legal services. The particular role of the DGC, Corporate Law is to provide expert and trusted advice in relation to the ACCC/AER obligations as a Commonwealth entity. This will include: advising on issues such as the permitted use of protected information; high risk procurements; legal service directions, privacy and freedom of information obligations; probity related policies and procedures; and sensitive HR issues.
