The Lowry sits at the forefront of international arts and culture in the Northwest and beyond, and is the cornerstone of the economic and social regeneration of MediaCityUK at Salford Quays. We are at once a home for the very best in performing, visual and digital arts, a hub for emerging artists, and a place of inspiration, support, and joy for members of our community, especially those who need us most.

We are passionate about using the arts to change people’s lives, and have a specific focus on children and young people from across our region. Central to this is our commitment to our local communities in Salford. We tap into the work on our stages and in our gallery spaces to nurture talent, raise aspirations and amplify young people’s voices.

In April 2025, The Lowry will celebrate 25 years of culture in Salford, and we are now looking for a new Chair to lead us into our new chapter, as we look to the future with a renewed commitment to our charitable aims and objectives, and a fresh focus on being a diverse, inclusive, and dynamic organisation, representative of the communities and creatives we serve.
