Guide to drafting an Advance Postcard
We are always keen to profile the inspiring and fascinating stories of Global Australians via our popular Postcards. If you would like us to promote your story, please contact us! If we have invited you to share your story, below are some guidelines for a quick drafting process.
The questions below can help get you started, but we invite you to modify the questions / focus to hone in on a particular aspect of your journey, career path, tips for others etc.
Q.1 Please tell us a little bit about yourself, where your home is in Australia, and where you now call home.
Q.2 What led you to move overseas, and what advice would you give for those following in your path?
Q.3 What’s been one of the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome in making your move?
Q.4 How have you found creating a new network in your new home? Have you still managed to maintain your connections in Australia?
Q.5 What are some of the benefits that have come from becoming a Global Australian?
A picture tells a thousand words they say, and certainly bring the postcard to life! Here are some tips / suggestions:
Ensure the subject’s face is well-lit and in focus.
The image should have a friendly and approachable expression.
From above the shoulders in preferable (see example)
Include 3-5 images that showcase your field of expertise or work.
Ensure these images are relevant to the subject’s shared in the postcard. Both professional or personal are great.
Use high-quality images that are clear, well-composed, and visually engaging.
Ensure that you have the necessary rights and permissions to provide these images for use in your postcard.
