The Australian's Global Food Forum brings leaders together in Brisbane to discuss the future of the nation’s $150 billion agribusiness industry.

During his keynote address at the event, Visy Chairman Anthony Pratt described Australia as a 'food superpower'.

"The food production industry is six per cent of Australia's GDP, so while tech gets all the love, food gets all the jobs," Mr Pratt said.

"Food is the largest manufacturing sector. Food production is Australia's natural advantage, you can grow anything here."

More than 400 leaders in agribusiness have discussed the opportunities and hurdles in international trade market

From booming interest by private equity and super funds in buying farmland and the emergence of a new generation of corporate and family farm businesses to global food trends to the emerging technologies and sustainable agricultural practices.

Attendees delved into supply chain and logistics pressures that threaten to hold the industry back, the growth of high-value agriculture in Australia’s north, as well as new technologies to help decarbonise agriculture.
