Hello friend,
Happy New Year and Happy Lunar New Year! I hope the holiday period has left you feeling refreshed and enriched. Meeting up with some global Aussies travelling over Christmas prompted me to share the importance of informal catchups – hearing first hand about industry trends elsewhere, learning about available talent, and all while enjoying a waterfront beer!
If you are kicking off 2023 with some stretch goals, check out these stories for some inspiration:
- Meet record-breaking runners Erchana Murray-Bartlett and Nedd Brockman, raising money for important Aussie causes 🏃
- Get to know the remarkable people nominated for Australian of the Year ❤️
- Brush up on the 2023 priorities for boards💡
If you are planning to move back to Australia in the coming year or so, don’t miss the next cohort of the Talent Return Program kicking off in 3 weeks – this time these program times are best suited for Australian, Asian and US time zones.
Finally, thank you to all those you completed our annual Global Australian Survey! We want to stay up to date with our community perspective, so be sure to check out (and answer 🙏!) the super quick newsletter poll 👇.
‘Till next time,

RECORD FUNDRAISING RUNS
Australia is a huge country – but two runners have each traversed the continent! Erchana Murray-Bartlett ran consecutive marathons from Cape York to Melbourne (6200km 😅) and Nedd Brockmann ran from Perth to Sydney (4400km) in just 46 days! And they smashed fundraising records in the process – for at-risk wildlife and those experiencing homelessness respectively. Click on their names to explore their journeys!
