With omicron in the rear view mirror🤞, we are excited to reconnect vey soon with the Advance community at the Gala Dinner in Sydney on 23 March. This is our annual fundraiser, and more critical than ever after a two year hiatus. 

Our NextGen program has kicked off with a bumper cohort of nearly 100 participants! Nominations for the Advance Awards 2022 are also officially open – you are invited to nominate an incredible global Australian making an impact on the global stage! See past award winners for inspiration here

Thank you to the many members who completed the 2021 Global Australian Survey. The survey results will be announced in an online event on 3 March, and show that Australian expats create a powerful global talent pool across industries and locations. 

Finally, the Federal election is looming, and if you are wondering about eligibility to vote or how to update your details, we’ve got you covered!

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN

The Advance Awards recognise the work of remarkable global Australians making an extraordinary impact on the global stage in industry sectors that are of particular importance to Australia. This includes Australians living and working overseas; Australians who have built their career overseas in the past; and international alumni of Australian universities. Do you know anyone who fits the bill? SURVEY RESULTS ANNOUNCED

The full report of the 2021 Advance Survey of Global Australians sponsored by Russell Reynolds Associates, will be presented in an online event with  experts discussing the details revealed about the talent pool of global Australians. The free, online event will take place on Thursday 3 March 2022, from 12.00pm to 1.30pm AEDT, with insights from Peter L. O’Brien, Managing Director at Russell Reynolds Associates, in conversation with Advance CEO Johanna Pitman. More


BECOME A RESEARCH LEADER

The flagship Snow Fellowship program has been established to develop Australia’s next generation of biomedical research leaders. Snow Fellowships valued at up to $8M over 8 years are awarded to outstanding early to mid-career medical/biomedical researchers to build high impact multidisciplinary programs and teams in fields including medicine, science, and bioengineering. Expressions of interest are now open for this fellowship to establish ambitious, globally collaborative research programs at an Australian university or medical research institute. Applications submitted by the host institute and are due by 31 May 2022. More


NEXTGEN KICKS OFF

With an overwhelmingly huge number of sign ups, our first Advance NextGen Program of 2022 has officially kicked off with a speaker session from the incredible Amy Smith, Founder and Director of Aligned Tribe, on ‘defining you’. For those that missed out – the opportunity will come around again in August/September of this year! Check out what else we’ll be delivering through this program here.


PREPARING TO VOTE

The Australian Federal Election will be coming up in the next couple of months, so if you are an Australian living overseas that can vote, consider checking that all your details are in order. The enrolment deadline is roughly one week after the date of the election is announced, so you won’t have long! For an easy how-to, check out America Josh’s info page here.
