Message from Advance DC Committee

The Washington DC chapter is home for many Australians representing Australia in the US Capital.

Australians in DC work at all levels of multilateral organizations including the World Bank, IFC and the IMF, as well as think-tanks and other non-profit and public institutions. Some Australians are focused on supplying the US government with a range of products and services, including information, communications and technology, defense and health supplies. Australians work in law and there is a growing contingency of Australian journalists and lobbyists in the capital. Close by is the Virginia-based technology hub and other locally-based Australian businesses.

The mission of Advance DC is to promote Australian professionals and act as Australian ambassadors-at-large in Washington, DC. Our focus reflects the interests of the DC region and includes government, public policy, foreign affairs, international development, and DC based Australian businesses and institutions.
