As part of the campaign, Google Australia organised a couple of GDay Google events at Googles London offices, proudly supported by Advance – Global Australians. Google Australias Engineering Director, Alan Noble, explained that the Sydney office has been leading the pioneering work in Googles mapping technology and geo-spatial applications for Google, as well as working on other Google products for millions of users worldwide. Google Maps, Traffic for Google Maps and Mapplets (a tools that allows users to layer their own information over Google Maps) were all developed in Sydney, one of Googles global engineering hubs.
